MUSEUMS AT NIGHT 18th MAY
In addition to the usual day time opening The Centre will also be open from 8pm - 12.30am on Friday 18th May as part of the Culture 24 initiative "MUSEUMS AT NIGHT". Take the opportunity to look through the historic telescopes at VENUS, MARS & SATURN. Saturn with its beautiful ring system, which will be visible all evening. We will also be looking at other interesting celestial objects (see Open Evenings in the Astronomy section for further details). PLEASE NOTE THAT VIEWING IS WEATHER DEPENDENT. IF IT IS CLOUDY THEN YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO SEE THROUGH THE TELESCOPES.
Quality Badge Accreditation
In December 2010, The Centre was awarded The Learning Outside the Classroom 'Quality Badge'. This is a national benchmark that accredits providers of LotC and confirms that we offer young people the type of high quality learning experiences they really benefit from in an environment that manages risk effectively.
